Oaks Corners Firefighters Hold Annual Extrication Training
On November 6th and November 9th 2013 members of the Oaks Corners Fire Company held their annual
accident victim extrication training. The training was split into two sessions each lasting around three hours.
The first session consisted of basic extrication concepts including vehicle construction, vehicle stabilization,
scene safety, and use of the various extrication equipment. This included basic techniques for removal of
doors, roofs, glass etc. The second session covered more advanced extrication including vehicles on their
sides, tunneling, seat removal etc. Deputy Chief Mike Reifsteck was the instructor and an estimated 30
OCFD members attended the training.
