| Driver Injured in NYS Thruway Truck Rollover. |
On May 23rd at 2:38pm, The Oaks Corners Fire Department & Phelps Ambulance were dispatched to the
westbound on-ramp at New York State Thruway Exit 42 for a reported tractor-trailer that had rolled over. First
arriving units on scene reported that the driver had self extricated and was complaining of minor injuries. The truck
was carrying sheet metal and there were no hazardous materials concerns. The Oaks Corners FD responded with
Engine 3211, Rescue 3271, & Special Operations Unit 3262 with a crew of 9 fire & EMS responders under the
direction of Chief Mike Reifsteck. An additional crew of 6 remained at the station on stand-by with additional
apparatus.
