Apartment Building Damaged by Fire in Geneva
On Saturday January  16 at 2:33pm, the North Side & Oaks Corners Fire Departments were dispatched to the
Woodlands at Northside apartment complex at 1300 Pine Lane in the Town of Geneva for a reported kitchen
fire. The caller reported seeing fire & smoke in the kitchen and did not know the exact address. North Side
Chief Dan Beckers & Oaks Corners Chief Brian Maney responded immediately after the dispatch. While
enroute to the call, the 911 Center updated responders that the alarm company called and was now reporting a
fire alarm activation at the complex. A third caller reported a fire in apartment 324 and that the sprinkler system
had been activated.

Chief Beckers arrived within minutes and confirmed that the sprinkler system had activated and that there was
possibly a structure fire. Further investigation found that there had been a cooking fire on the stove with minor
extension to the cabinets. The range hood fire extinguishing system had activated along with the building
sprinkler system and the fire had been extinguished. Firefighters deployed ventilation fans to remove smoke
from the building and water vacs to help remove water. The building did suffer smoke and water damage. The
Geneva & Border City Fire Departments responded to the scene to assist with water salvage. Ontario County
Deputy Fire Coordinators Ralph DeBolt and Scott DeCook also assisted on scene.

Oaks Corners Engine 3211, Pumper-Tanker 3231, and Special Operations Unit 3262 responded with a crew of
17 under Chief Maney.
